30 Adventures For My Wanderlust

I am no doubt a dreamer who is always looking for my next big adventure. In one of my recent talks with Kyle, I realized that maybe my life goals are a big too... crazy? The one that really got him frazzled is my idea to hike the Mountains-to-Sea Trail here in good ol' North Carolina.

The Mountains-to-Sea Trail stretches from the Great Smoky Mountains to the Outer Banks for roughly a thousand miles. Currently only half of the MtS Trail is actually on a trail and the other half follows back roads. Currently there are plans to move the trail from the back roads to trails. I love the idea of hiking the entire trek. Fortunately for me, I live within thirty minutes of the first section of the MtS Trail, so I am just being teased to do my first overnight hike in my own back yard on the MtS Trail.

But is this crazy? Hiking a thousand miles in the back country of North Carolina. Possibly, but people hike the Applachian Trail and they survive. I think that it is important to dream big. If you don't dream big, then how can you think of all of the small things to do along the way? With my trip to Washington D.C. and Myrtle Beach recently, I am already thinking about a road trip through the South during the winter to make my way to southern Louisiana (to spend time with family there). Once I've covered the South, it's only right that I dream to travel the rest of the United States and beyond. I'm feeling a bucket list coming together.... !
